What data we collect and why
We collect personal data in two ways:
1. Contact form submissions
When you submit the contact form on this site, we receive the information you enter — typically your name, email address, and message. This data is processed by Formspree (our form processor) and forwarded to our inbox.
- Legal basis: Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — responding to a business enquiry you initiated
- We use this data only to respond to your message and, if an engagement follows, to manage the business relationship
- We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent
2. Website analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use this site. GA4 collects anonymised data including pages visited, time on page, approximate location (country/city level), device type, and referral source.
- Legal basis: Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — understanding site performance to improve content
- IP addresses are anonymised before storage
- We do not use GA4 data to identify individual users
Cookies
This site uses cookies set by Google Analytics 4. These are first-party analytics cookies and do not track you across third-party websites.
- _ga — distinguishes unique users. Expires after 2 years.
- _ga_<container> — maintains session state. Expires after 2 years.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.
We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking cookies, or any other non-essential cookies.
Third-party processors
We share data with the following third parties only to the extent necessary to operate the site:
- Formspree (form processing) — Privacy policy
- Google Analytics (website analytics) — Privacy policy
- Google Fonts (typography) — fonts are loaded from Google's servers; Google may log the request. Privacy policy
- Hostinger (web hosting) — your IP address is processed in server logs. Privacy policy
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data with any third party.
Data retention
- Contact form submissions are retained in email for as long as the business relationship is active, or up to 3 years from last contact, whichever is sooner
- Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted
- Server access logs (held by Hostinger) are typically retained for up to 30 days
International transfers
Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC, which may transfer data to the United States. Google participates in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Formspree is based in the United States and processes data under Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data where there is no lawful reason to retain it
- Restriction — ask us to restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@frogsbyte.com. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Poland this is the UODO (Urząd Ochrony Danych Osobowych).
